User Guide¶
Cascade Hydro is organised as a sequence of tabs that follow the analysis from data to design values. The tabs, left to right:
| Tab | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Map | Import an ECCC station, or set a project location and ecozone. |
| Data | Load and review the precipitation record; confirm the location and ecozone. |
| Diagnostics | Screen the record for completeness, trends, change points, and adequacy. |
| Analysis | Explore the record and fit frequency distributions to the annual maxima. |
| IDF Curves | Assemble fitted IDF/DDF curves and design storms across durations. |
| Methods & References | The methods, constants, and citations behind every result. |
The application opens on the Map tab. You do not have to use the tabs strictly in order, but each one builds on the data and location established by the ones before it.
Completeness and outlier screening apply per tab
The Analysis and IDF tabs each screen their input independently for incomplete years and outliers — the controls live on those tabs. The Diagnostics tab reports on the record but does not configure the others.
